1. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Before becoming an A-list actor, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was a wrestler and a football player at Bethlehem's Freedom High School, Lehigh Valley. Even though he has spent most of his time in several states, The Rock credits his athletic career to Lehigh Valley, where he flourished as an athlete.

2. Mario Andretti

Recognized as among the most versatile racers, Mario Andretti has won races in IndyCar, Formula One, NASCAR, and the World Sportscar Championship. Although he was not born in Pennsylvania, Mario's family relocated to Lehigh Valley when he was still a teen, and this is where he sharpened his racing skills.

3. Larry Holmes

Notably, one of the five boxers who knocked out the heavyweight champion, Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, spent his childhood years at Lehigh Valley, particularly in Easton, leading him to be nicknamed the 'Easton Assassin.' Larry Holmes made a name for himself despite dropping out of school only in seventh grade.

4. Lee Iacocca

Lee Iacocca was an American automobile executive renowned for developing the Ford Mustang and reviving Chrysler Corporation. Lee Iacocca was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, schooled at Allentown High School, and worked at Yocco's Hot Dogs before becoming a respected executive. Even though Lee Iacocca later moved to California, where he spent his last days, we will always remember his roots.

5. Sarah Knauss

It's impossible to complete this list without mentioning the late Guinness World Record holder, Sarah Knauss. Even though she passed away in 1999, and you might not hear much about her these days, Sarah Knauss makes this list for holding the Guinness World record of the oldest American before her demise. Sarah Knauss was born in Hollywood, Luzerne County, PA, in 1880 and passed away on December 30, 1999, aged 119 years. She survived seven American wars, witnessed 23 American presidential administrations, and was alive during the sinking of the Titanic.
